How to Download Files Faster Without Using a Download Manager
Windows
limits the number of simultaneous connections you can make to ensure
that all websites load properly. However, you may experience slowdowns
while downloading files using Windows' default browser, which is
Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer does not feature a download manager
either and third-party download managers take up system resources.
Fortunately, you can increase the download speeds without side effects
by making a few registry edits.

1
Click on the "Start" button or press the Windows logo key. Type "regedit" on the search box and press "Enter" to launch the Registry Editor. If you are using Windows XP or an older version of Windows, click the "Run" item first before entering "regedit."

2
Point the Registry Editor to the "HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" path. Do this by clicking on the "HKEY_USERS" item on the left side and then pressing the right arrow on your keyboard to expand the tree. Continue pressing the right arrow on ".DEFAULT" and so on until you reach the "Internet Settings" key.

3
Click the on the "Internet Settings" key and then right-click on an empty space on the right side to see the "New" item. Go to "DWORD Value" or "DWORD (32-bit) Value" and name the entry "MaxConnectionsPerServer" without quotes. Double-click the entry you just created and set the "Value data" to "10" without quotes. Create another entry of the same type called "MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server" and set the value data to "10" as well.
-
4
Create the same entries that you done in Step 3 inside the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" key. Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.
