How to Download Faster Using Internet Download Manager

Internet Download Manager is a program that handles file downloads made through a Web browser and may increase the rate at which your computer can download certain files. When Internet Download Manager begins downloading a file, it searches the Internet for other servers hosting the same file. It then downloads different sections of the file from multiple sources simultaneously so that your download speed is not limited by the bandwidth of any one server.

     Navigate in your Web browser to internetdownloadmanager.com, and click the "Try Internet Download Manager for Free" button at the bottom of the page. Save the file "idman605.exe" to the desktop.

     Double-click the file "idman605.exe" when the download is complete. The Internet Download Manager Installation Wizard appears. Click "Next."

     Read the terms of use for Internet Download Manager, and then click "Next" through the remaining prompts to install the software on your computer.

     Click "Finish" when the installation software displays a message notifying you that the software was installed successfully. The installation software displays another window asking you to close and re-open your Web browser.

     Click "OK" and close the Web browser. The Internet Download Manager software appears. Re-open the browser, and navigate to a page hosting a file for download.

     Right-click the download link, and select "Download With IDM" on the pop-up menu.
