How to Speed Up My DSL Connection

computer. With DSL, users can continue to use the telephone lines for

Modem Upgrade
Step 1
Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and speak to a customer service representative regarding your current service. Delete any suspicious or fraudulent results that appear on the virus software quarantine list. The virus software will then prompt you to reboot your computer system to fully remove the quarantined items. Step 1
Unplug the modem and router (if applicable) from your computer and electrical outlets. When the power source is removed, the lights on the front of the modem and router should go off.Step 2
Wait 2 minutes to allow the modem and router to lose connection with the computer network. The computer's Network and Sharing Center should indicate that Internet connection is lost, via a desktop pop-up window.Step 3
Plug the modem and router back into their designated spots on the computer. Supply power to both devices by plugging them back into the electrical outlets. Check to ensure that the DSL connection speed has increased once the network has been reset.
